About Spruceville Outfitters

Spruceville Outfitters is a family owned and operated business, providing first class big game trophy hunts in prime Canadian Wilderness.  We currently specialize in low pressure guided five and a half day hunts for Whitetail Deer (fall) and Black Bear (spring and fall).  Our farmland fringe, 96,000 acre outfitting lease is located just northwest of Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan in trophy whitetail and black bear territory.  Our new ownership is committed to providing a top notch baiting program in order to maintain and grow our deer and bear population.  There is potential for Boone & Crockett bucks or 30 to 40% color phase bears.  There is a 150" minimum for whitetail bucks.  Hunters may use either bow or rifle for their hunts.  Each hunt includes lodging and meals.  Accommodations during your hunt are at our remote lodge.

Hunt Options

Both whitetail deer and black bear hunts are 5.5 days long.  Spruceville Outfitters limits each week to only 6 hunters.  Hunts start Monday morning and end Saturday at noon.  Hunters are expected to arrive at our 1000 sq ft remote cabin on Sunday afternoon.  The cabin has been completely remodeled in 2023 with all amenities.  After settling in to camp, you are given the opportunity to check and site in your firearms.  This is followed with dinner and a casual meeting where we discuss the rules and regulations of the land and also the agenda for the next day/week.  The following morning starts at approximately 6:00am with breakfast.  A packed lunch is included for your day in stand or ground blind which ends at dark around approximately 5:30pm.  It is encouraged to bring your cellphone with international roaming capability to better stay in touch with guides and also for cabin use.  However, there is Wi-Fi at the cabin.  Our tree stands are usually 12 – 16 ft high.  Blinds are about 25-75 yards away from baits, depending on the weapon used (rifle/bow).  Heaters are also available if needed, as it can get quite cold.  Cameras and video equipment are encouraged.  We are fortunate to have color phased bears, such as blonde, brown, cinnamon,  and black with brown nose.  White or blaze orange jackets along with red or blaze orange hats must be worn with rifle hunts.  Camouflage may only worn with archery or black powder rifle hunts.
